The thick gel layer keeps the cap cool for up to 45 minutes. To get this, freeze the cap for at least 2 hours in a freezer set to -25°C. Freezing at a higher temperature, or for less time may result in shorter therapy duration.
Heat the cap for exactly 25 seconds in the microwave. This gives you 15 minutes of soothing heat therapy. Heat therapy duration may vary depending on the microwave wattage, ambient temperature, and heating duration/pattern. Do not heat it for longer than instructed period in one cycle. Longer heating can damage the gel and result in odor.
First, make sure you heated it for the full 25 seconds as instructed. If it still doesn't feel warm enough, let it rest for 1 minute without heating. Then heat it again for just 10 more seconds. That's 35 seconds in total. Don't heat it continuously for more than 25 seconds at a time. Repeat the heat cycle above for higher temperatures.
This product is originally odor resistant. In case you observe any odor once you receive the product, chances are it is due to moisture and heat during transportation. The suggestion to eliminate odor is to run a heating cycle as mentioned in the above FAQ, use a dry cloth\tissue to wipe the moisture off the product. After this, rest the product for a couple of hours in a cool and dry place then continue with usage.
